In most of my write-ups, I have mentioned about the girl whom I loved like anything but today, I am writing about someone who had the very same feeling for a boy like me.
29 January 2009 was the day when compelled by my friends I proposed a girl. Oh, let me tell you all about the girl whom I proposed. Her name is Rosna, a girl so elegant and beautiful. I am talking about the days when Smart Phones or to be specific general mobile phones were rare in business. I made her my 1st official relationship call from a PCO booth. I was happy because I was not single anymore like most of my friends. The time took its turn and the relationship went on for a very long time with partial breakups and makeups. It was tough when we both departed for our higher studies but it wasn’t bad at all. I remember how several nights were spent over the phone when reliance had an offer of unlimited STD night calling from 11 PM – 5 AM and I was never so punctual in my life before. I used to complete all my work by 11 and my phone used to be in 100% charge and then from 11 in the night to 5 in the morning we continuously used to talk. Our friends were surprised and always had a question “What actually do you talk for 6 hours?” and we used to say nothing but smile. With lots of “Aur Batao…..” “Kuch Naya…”…and some fights and then saying sorry… this is how our relationship went on for around 7 years.
Long distance is never an easy choice but I feel just because we know it’s not going to work doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. Rosna and I tried a lot, a lot to be specific. We wanted to be together and trust me even with all the small-time trust issues we still had faith in our stars. There was a time when Rosna said that don’t worry, one day I will sit next to you in a beautifully decorated car, you in your favourite sherwani and I in my red bridal lehenga, and then I will pinch you and say, Rahat it’s not a dream, see we are together.
The best thing about this girl was that she never gave up on me. She loved me like no one could ever and if you ask me which relationship I enjoyed the most, I will say it was with her because to be true, I actually had only one relationship, a real relationship because in others it was never an equal contribution. Rosna and I were so in love one time that I decided to get a job at a very early stage of my life, work hard and get married but as we all know life is full of shock and surprises. In this so-called practical world, we too had to take a practical decision, a decision which was going to change everything.
Finally, after a pretty long time, I got the Last call from Rosna. Last call because after this we won’t be able to speak as she was getting married. I was happy for her as she suffered a lot and finally, she was getting something she wanted. The best part of our conversation was that we still cared for each other and thought of all the rights and the wrongs like any matured person will do. I wanted to attend her wedding but that wouldn’t be possible because of the family issues we had in past but I blessed her and asked her to be happy. Plus, we promised each other that we will meet at some point in our life where no fear, no society pressure, nothing will matter and we will sit and talk about all our good days.
But today the reality isn’t anywhere close to our expectations…….
Rosna all I wanted to say that I don’t know what was between us and what will be, but Love was just an imagination before I met you. I would also love to say that you taught me that a beautiful soul doesn’t need a logical mind, all it needs a heart to love.
