“Wanting fame is a disease and one day, I will want to be free from this disease, from this desire. Where fame doesn’t matter. Where just experiencing life and being okay with it is enough.” IRRFAN
Irrfan for me and for a large number of people is not just a name but everything they could say about acting. Today is 29 April 2021, 1 year back, on 29 April 2020, Irrfan saab (saab I refer to people I respect deeply) said goodbye to this beautiful world and went to entertain our almighty. Like any other fan or let me frame in a much better way, like any other disciple of his work, his life, I too tried to present something. Here I won’t tell you the story of his birth or where he studied as you will find this information anywhere on google rather I will share my experience with few of his masterclass performance where he owned me for lifetime. These are my views and experience and hope you will be able to connect with them. Let’s explore the Khan the World Should have Known More, let’s know IRRFAN.
THE NAMESAKE

When I watched this movie, I was in my college and on the verge of my creative exposure. I have already seen Irrfan saab in some Bollywood movies but the exposure was always negligible. This time I had my own space and time to develop observation. 'The Namesake" was not a regular Hollywood movie as the main cast of the story had Bollywood actors in it. The movie effect lasted long, to be precise it is still fresh in my mind. My favorite scene is where Ashoke (Irrfan) takes his son Gogol to a rocky sea beach. He forgets his camera and asks his son to remember this scene forever. This scene had an emotional impact on me and made me realize How big role our father plays in our lives.
PAAN SINGH TOMAR

Anything said about this movie will be less but this movie not only made Irrfan win the National Award and Padma Shri but made the world realize what a gem he is. The Story was of a Bhaghi who once was a glory to nation, an Olympian. There were already big performances in Bollywood in Bandit categories and "Paan Singh Tomar" added another feather on the cap. Irrfan's acting to his accent to minute details he delivered was way beyond any judgement. People clapped on him winning the race, people cried on his helplessness, any dialogue he delivered and there was a rush of excitement in peoples eyes. "Beehad me Baghi hotein hai, Dakait to Parliament me hotein hai" connected us all with the reality.
QARIB QARIB SINGLE

Irrfan saab has delivered unearthly performance in his entire career but "Qarib Qarib Single" is my favorite. Reason is simple - Yogi, the character he played, connected with me a lot. The romance, the comedy and the heart breaks he had was similar to what I have experienced in my till date journey and through this movie I was just searching me. The songs and the screenplay was equally beautiful and Parvathy's performance was also mind blowing but it was Irrfan saab, it was Yogi, who completed it. This will be his favorite gift from him to me and if I ever get a chance to meet his son (Babil or Ayaan) or wife (Sutapa Ma'am), I will say this to them.
PIKU

Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Saab - This movie had it all. The movie from start to end keeps you intact to your seat but there comes a scene where you just lean down and think how can someone be so flawless in delivering a dialogue which stays forever. In the movie, a scene comes where Irrfan scolds Amitabh Bachchan for always being a cry baby and disturbing Deepika. It was a very simple performance but played with so much of perfection that even the word perfection looked so general. Irrfan saab has a capability of leaving an impact on one's mind and in Piku, he has delivered that with full honesty.
THE LUNCHBOX

I cannot describe this movie and present any views because I still feel I need to mature enough to do that. This movie had Irrfan saab opposite Nimrat Kaur, whom I admire a lot and Nawazuddin Bhai was playing the supporting character. When I started the movie I was trying a lot to understand what the character is, what is the meaning of this scene but when the film got over I was just left with questions. The film was so real that I felt it happened with me, and Saajan Fernandes (Irrfan saab) was someone whom I knew. If you haven't watched this film, just go and watch because the more I write about him, the more injustice I will do with the character.
Irrfan saab has delivered amazing performance in many movies and it was not at all possible for me to cover everything. From old days grey character Maqbool to few minutes of most impactful performance in Haider to todays Life of Pie’s Goodbye speech, he has some of the best movie under his name or I should better say, he has made them the Best. No wonder Slumdog lifted the Oscar and he was a part of it. If I ever deliver 1% of what saab has delivered, my purpose of life will be completed. Irrfan Saab, you have left us all too soon but I hope that if rebirth exists You may born again as Irrfan saab and bless us with what is left.
God was so jealous that he took Irrfan saab away from all of us. RAHAT
