Dear Mahi, Hope you are doing great and living your best life. Today I was sitting with my best friend at our most loved place, City Park, of Bokaro Steel City, a lovely place in our very own state Jharkhand. We were discussing plenty of things which were special in our life when suddenly you came in. You came in means you came in our conversation. 2011 was a very special year in our life because we completed our 12th that year. After board exams, there was nothing much to do except giving our entrances. On 3rd April 2011, I had my AIPMT scheduled and for that my centre was in Ranchi. Yes, on 2nd morning I reached Ranchi and went to my uncles place in Harmu. Less did I know that I was very near to your house. By the way that evening something historic happened. India was stuck to the TV sets as it was the World Cup Finals where India was facing Sri Lanka in Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai. After the fall of Sachin and Sehwag, the Josh went all low as the hope of winning the trophy faded. 2003 was repeating itself but things changed. You and Gautam took the responsibility on your head and turned the tables. Gautam, the dark horse of the match played an amazing game and so did your very good friend Yuvraj. He also contributed his best like all the other matches in the series. But that day, the entire world was bowing to one and only legend – MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI.

I was witnessing the joy here at Ranchi and for the very first time in my life, I fell for Cricket. The Love was intense, the joy was humongous, the victory was awaiting from almost 3 decades. Mahi, I don’t know how and when the love and respect for you became unconditional but now my heart is not ready to accept the fact that you are retiring.
